Have Beauty Boxes had their day?

£240 (£120) is how much i would (have) wasted this year on Beauty Boxes & that's not including postage!

I remember when Beauty boxes first came onto the scene in 2011, There was such a buzz around them, i know i was gutted when i missed out on Glossy Boxes 1st ever box with it's full sized Nars product (marketing ploy) & other luxury brands, i did however get the next one, month after month i stuck with it some months receiving a good box & others a rubbish box.

I think i didn't cancel as i tried to convince myself the next one would contain something amazing & I'd miss out - How wrong was i!

Then Boudior Prive/Jolie box appeared, I joined up & got their 1st box, This box had promise containing brands I'd not heard of, it had really luxurious products samples of £100+ face creams from lots of expensive High end brands. it was great but again the great boxes became good boxes & have slowly got worse. But at least i was more happy than disappointed with these boxes.

I got Glossy boxes Birthday box & then cancelled my subscription as the boxes were getting progressively worse & the boxes are so unfair! Everyone paid the same but the value of the boxes differed massively some people getting boxes worth £40+ but others not even scraping back the £10 they'd spent!

I understand it is a sampling service but the companies are charging you for sachets of creams & tiny vials of perfume that anyone can pick up for free at a local department store, the tiny samples are also gone in one use, so you are unable to use a few times before you decide if you like it enough to buy the full size?!

I will be receiving my last Jolie box of the year anyday now & from the review i have seen it will be a let down, so i think my Beauty box days are over & i will save my money to spend on something i really want/need & will actually use, as my draws are fit to burst with samples of  disgusting smelling perfumes or creams that aren't suitable for me!

I also tried She Said Beauty & Feel Unique but cancelled after one box.

I know i am not the only one who feels like this as Beauty Boxes Twitter & Facebook pages are full of complaints about the boxes, customer service, brands, products etc...

Have you had a good or bad experience with BB's?

  2. Totally agree with you. It's a habit I need to break! I just love the excitement of knowing its on its way and then I open it and its a massive disappointment!

This months Jolie is terrible. She Said Beauty has been appalling and I'll be getting my GB any day now (massive problems with Hermes) and I'm expecting I'll get the crappy box.

    1. Not got my JB yet.... But reviews don't look promising :(
I got a code to get GB for £8.50 so i got the Xmas box, was ok nothing special but my palette was broken! :(
I think that's the reason people stay subbed as the next one might be a full sized Nars or Dior etc.... But the truth it it was a one off to get people interested & subscribed...... In my opinion :)
