Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray

I noticed that recently my T-Zone has become quite oily & my make up wasn't lasting as long as it usually does so i had heard about this & thought I'd tell you what i think of it.

De-Slick is a hypoallergenic formula that comes in a spray bottle, which is supposed to absorb excess sebum and control surface shine, leaving your makeup looking matte all day. It claims to have a patent-pending “Temperature Control Technology,” which lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold it in place.

After cleanser, toner, I spray my face with De-Slick Setting Spray, holding it about five inches away. This serves as my face primer. Then, I go on with the rest of my makeup routine  - foundation, concealer, powder, eye makeup (not before applying Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion to my lids), bronzer, and blush – and when I’m finished, I spray my face again with the De-Slick Setting Spray to set my makeup.

I have definitely seen positive results after using Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray.... my makeup stays in place longer but, I do find that if I’m going to go out after work, I still need to give my face a once-over with powder because I can still see the slightest bit of shine by the end of the day. It’s definitely an improvement, but maybe there’s a better solution that will make my makeup stay in place until I take it off at night, and not just for the majority of the day. I’m going to keep trying this regime for the next few weeks and see if stops my face from producing so much oil, and then maybe the De-Slick Setting Spray will last longer too. I’ll keep you all posted!

Lily LoLo Mineral Make up

I have been looking into trying mineral foundation, I have stayed away as i don't understand how a powder alone can cover flaws and uneven skin tones.
I have looked at the different brands and was surprised by how expensive they were compared to liquid foundation.

I was tempted to try Laura Mercier as everyone raves about it,but the cost put me off as i don't want to spend a fortune & then hate it, but maybe i will when i know i like the feel of just powder on my face and feel confident with the way it looks like with regards to coverage.

I discovered a brand called Lily Lolo, They sell mineral make up at a very reasonable price, the reviews i found were very positive, but what made me decide to try it was you can buy samples for £1.29 for 0.75g so i can try for a couple of weeks and decide if it is for me & what shade i would be.

Here are the sample pots they are lovely little branded pots, that are reusable for travelling.
Here are the shades i decided to try

I got Blondie as this seemed to be the most popular shade in reviews, but i also got Barely Buff as it seemed a tiny bit darker, I also got Dusky as i thought it would make a good contour/blush shade, Then i decided to try the 2 finishing powder in Flawless matte & Translucent Silk.
i also got a mineral shimmer in Stardust, Which would make a perfect Highlighter.
I ordered direct from their site here . The Company were very efficient as i ordered them at 8.30pm on Wednesday night, got a dispatched email on Thursday & received the order today.
I have not had chance to try them yet, but i will do a review as soon as i have.
Have you tried Mineral Foundation, what is the best way to apply it?
Have you used Lily Lolo, what did you think of it?

Products worth the Hype!

Throughout the Beauty community on YouTube & Blogs Certain Products are Hyped up & talked about as the MUST have product, i have fallen for it several times & rushed out to buy it but once i had it, I've been thoroughly  disappointed!

Here are my top products that i think deserve the hype....

Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 & 2  £34.00 each - You don't necessarily have to buy both palettes as they are a palette containing 12 neutral shadows, some people say they are different as the original contains warm shades & no 2 contains cooler shades, but to be honest i think both palettes suit all skin types.
They are great for travel & using on a day to day basis. You are able to create lots of different looks with just the palette for school, work , cinema to full on clubbing & smokey.

Origins Super Spot Remover £12.00 - This is THE Best spot treatment ever!
(If you want to know all the details i have a post HERE )

Chanel Vitalumiere aqua £32.00 - This foundation is lovely it is like a 'Second Skin' it looks so natural & gives enough cover to hide any flaws without being noticeable! The bottle is small & compact so it is perfect for travelling, only down side is it is not available in many shades.

CHANEL-SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL BRONZE UNIVERSEL Bronzing Makeup Base £30.00 - This has got to be the most hyped product going, i decided i wanted it a year or so ago when it totally out of stock EVERYWHERE. Which only made me want it more!
I went on every site & went to every department store only to be told it was unavailable! Then one day i was just surfing when i came across & it was in stock woo hoo! - The Bronzer itself is really good, I'm not really a cream girl i use powder mainly but this may have changed my opinion, i use it for contouring & adding colour, i think it is fantastic.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

£4.19 -

is a

really good concealer & does everything a concealer should do!

Real Technique Buffing Brush £21.99 as part of the Core Collection.
This is probably the best foundation brush i have ever used, my
foundation is on my face within 10 seconds - Perfect when you have
the school run!. I really would like a back up but as i don't really use
the other 3 brushes you get in the kit. I have messaged them direct &
they have said they are thinking of it, so everyone tweet them &
demand it to be sold on it's own.

I hope i have helped some of you, do you agree or disagree with my

Can you suggest anything worth the hype?

Top 5 Favourite Budget Blushers

I love blusher and the way it can make a look, adding colour & dimension to a face, i own lots & lots usually around a peachy tone but i do also have Pinks, Orange, Plums, Browns etc..

I thought i would tell you my top 5 from my collection.

  • Sleek £4.29 - These Blushers are highly pigmented, long lasting & suitable for all skin tones, you need a very light hand with these the colour is very intense, Fantastic for a drug store brand. I have mine in Rose Gold, Honour & Suede. I also have to mention the Sleek blush by 3 as you get a blush palette with 3 colours in for an amazing £9.99 which is a great bargain & perfect for travel, All items are available on & Superdrug.

  • Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher £5.00 - These Blushers are stunning, they give off an amazing pearlescent glow that brightens your whole face giving not only colour but a lovely natural highlight. I have mine in Golden Sands, Scandal, Wowzer, Quiver, Sensation, Starlet & Pretty Pink. Available in Superdrug.

  • Nyx £5.50 - These Blushers are lovely & pigmented & available in a great range of colours, They are a little harder to get over here in the UK, but due to the steep delivery charges from i would wait till you have a list of products being purchasing?!. I only have Taupe & Dusty Rose but have my eye on Pinched & Terra Cotta..

  • Bourjois Blush £7.49 - These Blushers are little pots of happiness, They smell amazing! They have great pigment & a lovely sheen to brighten your face. This brand isbalways on 3 for 2 so are easily accessible. I have mine in Rose De Jaspe, Rose D'or, Lilas D'or, Ambre D'or, Rose Ambré. Available in most Drugstores.

  • Fashionista Blush £4.00 - These Blushers are exclusive to Superdrug & are a really good idea you purchase the Blushers & a palette to make a custom made palette just for you, so you could have a Blush, Bronzer, eyeshadow & Highlighter in one palette perfect for travel?! They are very pigmented & easy to blend. I have mine in Rush, Rose Glow, Blushing Coral, Rose Shine, Juicy Apricot, Cinnamon, Butterscotch, Amber Glow.

If you are on a real budget i also have an MUA Blusher £1.00!!! In the shade 5 (they don't have names) it is a really good blush for such a great price, it applies & blends well, this shade has also been said to be a dupe for Benefit's Coralista which i tend to agree with, an absolute bargain.

Do you know of any Budget Brands that i should know about?

Favourite High end Foundations

I love Budget Brands in Make up but i also love treating myself to Luxurious High end brands, the whole experience, the packaging & the product itself.
Over the last couple of years i have tried different brands some i've loved & repurchased & some I've disliked so have given them away or they are sat in my drawer getting dusty!!

My All time favourite Foundations has to be is this order.

  • Shiseido - Sun Protection Liquid Foundation -This is a liquid foundation that defends against powerful UVA/UVB rays as it provides a flawless makeup finish with full coverage. Resists perspiration, water, and oil, to maintain a soft matte look on skin, even during outdoor activities. Unites optimal sun protection with skin-caring makeup. Glides on smoothly and evenly; feels non-sticky and feather-light. Contains Thiotaurine, an antioxidant that neutralises free radicals. Minimises imperfections with a subtle matte finish. Very water-resistant.
It is amazing & stays on all day, in my opinion the longer you wear it the nicer it
looks & it is SPF 30,Lasts all day on me. A brilliant day to night foundation. I apply with the sponge provided slighty damp.

  • Chanel - Vitalumiére Aqua - Its soft and evanescent ultra-fine fluid texture is a real surprise: although exceptionally delicate and light, it offers an incomparable “second-skin” perfecting result. The complexion appears amazingly even, fresh and energised. The skin glows with seemingly nude beauty. As if lit from within. Bathed in light… Its formula, enriched with a UVB sun filter and mineral sunscreen, protects the skin from damaging sun rays (SPF 15). Its crystalline fragrance accentuates the sensation of freshness and pleasure on application.
This does everything it says above! It gives such a gorgeous natural look to the skin, lasts about 8-10hrs on me. I applied with a buffing brush or fingers.

  • Dior - Diorskin Nude - Skin appears fresher, silky and feels more comfortable. Thanks to micro-droplets of water, this foundation’s coverage is lighter than a “classic” fluid formula, and it evens out the complexion and makes it appear more radiant and transparent.  Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 blends 100% natural mineral pigments with Dior's exclusive, active mineralised water to deliver flawless, glowing skin that actually improves over time. By using advances in mineral makeup technology, this product will take your complexion to a whole new level.
This one is similar to Chanel but the formula is thicker & give a lovely glow once applied & lasts about 8-10 hours on me. I apply with fingers or buffing brush

  • Estee Lauder - Double WearKeeps skin looking fabulous, breathing comfortably through heat, humidity and activity without changing colour, fading or coming off on clothes. Natural matte finish and SPF10 sunscreen to protect skin.
This is Similar to Shiseido in the length it stays on but this is a full coverage foundation, which i usually use for a night out or if my skin is playing up, gives skin a flawless finish. I apply with buffing brush & smooth out with fingers.

  • Estee Lauder - Double Wear Light - Sheer-to-medium coverage and up to 15-hours wear. Long-wear makeup is now lightweight makeup. Fresh, natural, comfortable. Goes on sheer, leaves skin free to breathe all day. Controls oil, resists smudging and won't "melt" off through heat and humidity. For a look that stays vibrant and fresh whether it's a workday, a workout or a weekend. It's makeup that keeps up--Oil-free. Photo-friendly. Fragrance-free. Non-acnegenic.
This is another long lasting foundation & gives you a flawless finish, This is a great day to night foundation as not as full as the original but gives great coverage.

Do you use any of these brands? Do you have a recommendation for one a should try?
