Clarins 'The Essentials' Palette

*Warning this post contains the C word*....................It is nearly October!
This Christmas, Clarins keeps it simple. One palette with the beauty of 10 wearable eye shadows for beautiful eyes wherever and whenever you want. From beige and taupe to dark brown tones, this harmonious collection of colours offer a matte, satin or pearl finish giving you the chance to mix and match for a natural and sophisticated make-up look.

 The eco approach.
The Essentials palette accentuates Clarins commitment to responsible beauty with the entire product eco-designed from start to finish. All materials used are recyclable and rigorously selected according to Clarins eco-responsible charter with the aim of reducing volume to minimise environmental impact. The double wooden brush enclosed also meets eco criteria with it’s birch arm sourced from sustainably managed forests. The eye shadows themselves also follow suit with each and every shadow being a mineral and plant based formula.

The Pur Projet.
This palette is more than just make-up. It helps Clarins continue to support the preservation of biodiversity in the Amazon forest alongside a social environmental group called Pur Projet. Not only does Clarins work to save the forests, but also the regions Kuntanawa people. Clarins supports and fosters their culture and the surrounding nature, including the Urucum tree which produces a red pigment traditionally used for the community’s ritual make-up.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this! I have added it to my wishlist, the shades look gorgeous!

The palette is £35.00 and available in October.

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation & Concealer

Lights, Camera, Action!
Bourjois launches Happy Light, a new range that lights up the complexion for a radiant effect, without a shadow of imperfection. To bring you the most luminous of make-up solutions, Bourjois has created To bring you the most luminous of make-up solutions, Bourjois has created two new serum primers, a luminous foundation and a pro-quality concealer…

I picked up the Foundation & Concealer from the range, The texture of Happy Light Foundation is supple and so melting that it fuses with the skin and ensures an undetectable finish, with no masking and without a heavy or oily feel.

The ultra-fine and soft powders contained in the formula have been specially chosen for their softness and velvety feel. Also Flexible, the foundation becomes one with your facial expressions, without a stiffening feel, giving you 8hrs hydration.

The concealing power enhances the radiance of the complexion while concealing its imperfections, without thickness. It absorbs then reflects the light: the complexion takes on a new found radiance.
And, since they blend perfectly with the texture of the skin

The ultra-supple compact texture of Happy Light Concealer enables a targeted application, using a
finger or a brush. Multi-action, it conceals dark shadows and blemishes while illuminating. And even though it's the product with the greatest coverage of the range, Happy Light Concealer knows how to stay undetectable! This doesn't go into my creases it just melts onto the skin improves the area &
dissapears!

These Concealers really remind me of the Bobbi Brown Correctors/creamy concealers, I'm seriously hoping for a dupe here as £6.99 they are so much cheaper than BB's price!!.
(First Impressions) I am really impressed with both products, I love the original Healthy Mix & this reminds me a lot of it, but this has a more luminous effect on my face similar to the L'Oreal Lumi Magique foundation. I picked mine up from Superdrug as they were both on offer without around £4.00 off the retail price, so if you want to try them out it would be a good idea to grab them now.

I didn't pick up any of the Primer's but here is a little info about each one....

Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer - For normal to dry skin, an illuminating, moisturising version. With its light-as-air texture, Happy Light luminous primer leaves the skin soft, comfortable, moisturised and replumpedThe complexion is immediately illuminated!

Happy Light Matte Serum Primer - Specially created for normal to combination skin, Happy Light Matte Serum Primer is also endowed with a treatment serum texture. It leaves the skin feeling velvety and enhances the skin texture: the pores are refined and the complexion is mattified in all lights.

Have you tried anything from this range yet?

Pür Minerals 4 in 1 mineral powder

I really like the packaging on this product - it’s compact has a good size mirror in the lid and it’s really sturdy. I hate flimsy packaging on products like this but Purminerals have got this right. It comes in a great selection of shades, The shade I have is Light and it’s a great match for my complexion.

This powder covers like a dream. It builds up quickly and covers every blemish, imperfection and pore leaving your skin looking like it’s been photo-shopped, It gives great coverage without looking powdery at the end of it, it’s incredible. It works as your concealer, foundation, powder and SPF all in one and makes a great base for your blusher and highlighters too.

More than a mineral foundation, 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation is a natural mineral makeup concealer, powder and SPF 15 protection all in one. The cornerstone of the Pür Minerals line, this mineral makeup foundation is pure mineral pigment ground to the smoothest texture and bound with organic shea butter and vitamin E. This full-coverage mineral foundation is good for your Skin.

Pür Minerals are the brand to watch, I've tried a few of their products recently and can't fault them, if powder isn't your thing then try their CC Cream it is amazing! I will definitely be trying more products in the future! If you want to try this brand you can buy them online or from your local  Marks and Spencer  beauty hall for £24.00.

Urban Decay Naked Skin ultra definition pressed Finishing Powder

It’s the next evolution in Naked Skin. The powder with the World's longest name!..... Designed to be virtually invisible once applied, our high-tech, jet-milled powder has an insanely silky texture that feels amazing on your skin. Optical blurring pigments instantly minimize imperfections, diminish shine and create a stunning soft-focus effect that looks professionally retouched.

Unlike powders that leave skin looking chalky or cakey, Naked Skin Finishing Powder gives you a radiant complexion and NATURAL-looking Naked coverage. It feels like silk on the skin, so soft & creamy.

The packaging is a gorgeous gunmetal and champagne custom compact it is lovely looking, it even has a Naked-embossed push button. The top compartment includes a full-size mirror, perfect for on-the-go touchups and a separate compartment underneath holds the applicator sponge. When you’re done applying, just slip the case into the pretty carrying pouch to keep it protected in your bag.

The colour 'Naked Light' is a perfect match for my skin & gives me a flawless finish, I usually use the sponge to dab the powder where I need it, then I blend the powder in & out over the rest of my face with my RT powder brush. It has pretty good lasting power on my face, I can get a good 7-8hrs of shine free face.

It is quite expensive for powder at £22.00, but it's Urban Decay and for a high end brand it's about average and I expect to pay it, the packaging is ultra sleek which is an added bonus when I need to powder my nose in public!

Kiko Neon Glow Light Effect Serum

Neon Glow Light Effect Serum from the current Dark Heroine collection. Is a limited edition product that comes in a very glamorous box and inside is Something quite beautiful! An innovative breakthrough in cosmetics, brightness renewal serum for an immediately more radiant complexion. An exclusive solution that combines the moisturizing and smoothing properties of a gel with the brightening effect of the reflective particles contained in its internal helix. As the serum is dispensed, the gel combines with the luxurious pearls.

The product is packaged in a transparent container in which the spiral of the purest pearls is suspended in a soft, transparent gel. The serum performs a complete action. The efficient technological packaging dispenses the two textures in a perfect mix.

Its formula is effective, containing ingredients to help revive the skin’s natural splendor and to prevent skin aging. The components of the gel act together with the full bodied, multi reflective pearlescent texture to provide elegant radiance to the skin.

The face rediscovers a young and smooth appearance for a radiant glow throughout the day. Easy to apply for immediately visible radiance. Its effective formula massages the face with a revitalizing and intense action.

Once blended out on the skin it is a little shimmery, but when you put your foundation on top the effect is magical. It turns the shimmer aspect into a gorgeous luminous glow. It is not a primer, in that it won't mask your pores or promise to help your make up stay put longer, but it makes a lovely smooth base for your foundation. Leaving you with a lovely dewy 'Lit from within' finish.
The Kiko Neon Glow Light Effect Serum is £13.90 and is available from the Kiko website.

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser was released in Asia earlier this year and Now it has popped up in the US. I'm really hoping that it comes across the pond to the UK, reviews have dubbed it a dupe for Smash box & Benefit's porefessional primer, so I really have high hopes for it, If it is anything like the baby lips it will be fairly priced.
Translucent gel primer blurs the appearance of enlarged pores, lines and other imperfections to create a matte and flawless canvas for makeup to glide. Mattifying formula keeps skin feeling and looking fresh with a baby soft feel, improving the staying power of your foundation while creating the look of a more refined and smoother skin texture..

  • Bye bye pores one second away from poreless baby skin!
  • On contact, translucent gel melts on skin and instantly erase pores, imperfections, lines and creases.
  • Skin looks instantly transformed into a perfect smooth canvas.
  • Skin is shine free, even and baby smooth for all day.
  • No burden to skin.
  • Mistake proof.
  • No mirror need.
  • Does not clog pores.
  • So light, you forget it's on.
  • How to Use:
  • Apply all over face or on concerned areas.
  • Suitable for all skin tones and types.
  • Pack Size - 22ml

  • Release date TBC.

If you really can't wait to try it, I've found a site HERE, that sells it for £10.00 with free P&P to the UK.
