Urban Decay Naked Basics Review & Swatches

I finally caved and bought it when i saw a 20% off promotion at Beauty bay.com, I know it was only £2.00 making it £18, but i had been looking at reviews & swatches and it is the perfect size for travel. (still talking myself into the purchase!)

The Case is a slightly rubberised texture similar to Nars. The new Naked Basics palette only has 6 eye shadows, 5 of which are  matte& 1 Semi-matte. The palette contains the following 6 shades:

Venus - A creamy white colour (Semi-Matte)
Foxy - A yellow/beige colour
Walk of Shame - A pink/beige colour
Naked 2 - A soft taupe colour
Faint - A warm, medium dark brown colour
Crave - A dark black colour

The Shadows them selves are lovely and creamy and pigmented, which i was happy about as most mattes are chalky which is why i usually go for satin or shimmery.

Were you tempted?

Sneak Peek- Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette

Urban Decay are Naked again!
They are bringing out a Blush palette for Spring 2013 ( USA is January 2013) priced at $30, to me it looks very similar to the Sleek Face Form palette which contained a bronzer, blush & highlighter that costs only £10.00 i did a review Here.

It does look very pretty & i am slightly tempted but the price seems fairly steep......
They are also releasing a Beauty Balm, Ammo Palette & Lip glosses in this Collection.

Are you excited for it's arrival?

NYX - I Dream Of Nevis

I Dream of Nevis is a beautiful neutral palette. I am loving the matte vanilla, shimmery taupe, and the deep brown. The beautiful shades transfer quite nicely onto skin - pigmented and smooth, but with a little fall out.

First shade: It is a matte vanilla colour, it is very smooth and very pigmented, it is perfect to use as an all-over lid colour as well as a highlight shade.

Second shade: A matte skin-tone with a bit of a greyish undertone to it, it is amazingly pigmented, you could use it as a lid colour or a crease colour too.

Third shade: A frosted taupe colour with flecks of very fine silver shimmer, without it being too obvious as it gives a sheen on the lids rather than a sparkle.

Fourth shade: It is a shimmery silver colour with sparkle and tons of shimmer, it doesn't stick to the lid! It has lots of fallout so my least favourite of the palette.

Fifth shade: A matte deep brown shade, could also be used as an eyeliner, for a more natural look, a lovely warm colour.

All in all a lovely little palette with nice shades to create day or night looks.

What's your favourite eye shadow palette?

Urban Decay Naked Palette Dupe for £3.99?

I'd not really heard much hype around VIVO - every now & then i would hear about their 'Unprotected' Palette.

I did a little research into them & discovered that the brand are made by FB Beauty, the same company who makes the MUA make up for Superdrug & i knew how well their palettes sell especially 'Heaven & Earth' & 'Undressed' Palettes. I own both myself :)

I noticed that VIVO had a 30% Sale online last week - i did Tweet about it, I decided i might as well for £3.99 for 12 shadows & money off, i thought there was no time like the present! Their website is HERE

The Palette arrived & i am massively impressed, gorgeous colours, great pigmentation, The palette is an obvious dupe for Urban Decay Naked Palette, so many colours are the same.

If you are on a budget or just want a palette you can throw in your bag & not have to worried about it getting broken as for £3.99 it can easily be replaced time & time again!

They do ship internationally for £7.50, which is quite steep but if you have a few friends who all want to make an order?

What's your best Dupe?
