Wedding Make up..... Highlighter

Highlighting goes hand in hand with contouring it allows you to brighten & gets part of your face noticed like your Cheekbones, cupids box or down your nose! I like to use a slightly shimmery product but if you prefer matte then you can use a Concealer 2-3 shades lighter than your skin tone, I'd personally steer clear of glittery products especially on your wedding day *Unless that's your thing!*, highlighting will make your face look healthy & glowing with a ' lit from within' result, There are lot's on offer from light concealer, to cream/liquid or powder highlighters choose the one you are most comfortable with!

This shimmering, brush-on powder creates a soft, rosy glow. Works well with neutral, pink and rose blush shades. Five bars of luminous colour work as individual eye shadows. Swirl the Brush through all five shades and dust lightly on cheekbones after Blush. Focus on applying shimmer on the top of cheekbones - where light naturally hits the face - for the most flattering look. I have mine in Rose Gold. £32.00

Dior Amber Diamonds, sheer and shimmering as silk, the Poudre Shimmer Diorskin brightens the complexion with thousands of sparkles and an airy caress of translucent light subtly shaded with delicate, sparkly gem-like effects.Just the right amount of pearlescent particles and pigments designed to give the skin a beautiful sheen. This is just *sings* "AHhhhhhh" stunning the effect it leaves is stunning! £32.00 for 10g

Accessorize Bronzer in Golden Sands, this is definately NOT a Bronzer! it is the perfect product to Highlight it's a perfect combination, a lovely shimmery shade and not glittery at all, leaving a gorgeous sheen to your skin, you get alot of product for your money, great quality product & comes in a few shades perfect for light to dark skintones. £5.00

Meet Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm, a seemingly innocent honey hued luminiser that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow. This is a brilliant product but if you prefer subtle then this probably isn't the one for you. £15.00

Becca Illuminating Skin Perfector is a water-based moisturizer with an SPF of 20+ and light-diffusing particles of shimmer that creates instant radiance and vitality and reduces imperfections. You can mix with your foundation to illuminate the whole face or just apply to the skin after your foundation is on areas you'd like to highlight. It gives a gorgeous finish. £33.00 for 50ml

Benefit High Beam is a pale pink shimmery highlighter that gives a radiant, dewy glow to all those who dab it on their faces. As it’s only used sparingly, one bottle will last for ages and it’s one of those products that goes on like a dream, is fairly difficult to mess up and looks great without looking too much. It’s a satiny pink highlighter that creates a young, radiant, fresh complexion on all skin tones. £19.50

You can make your highlighting look as natural or as noticeable as you wish just choose the formula you are happy with, for very subtle highlighting just use a light concealer either before or after your foundation.

Sleek lip Palette in Ballet & Siren.

Sleek Lip 4 is a colour rich lipstick quad with different formulations including matte, gloss and satin finishes to create a variety of looks. 6 palettes in the set to suit all skin colours and tones. It also comes in a Handy travel size component with lip brush and mirror included

This palette has four nude shades: Tutu is a light peachy nude with a glossy finish. Plié is a brownish pink nude with satin finish. Swan Lake is matte that feels powdery on my lips. The formula is dry. Pirouette is a cool toned pink nude with satin finish.

All shades in this resemble concealer or dead lips! In my opinion. Except Pirouette! This is a pretty shade. However they dried out my lips badly especially the Matte & looked streaky, I’m not impressed with this palette & would not recommend!!

Kiss Me is a satin orange toned red. Miss Me  is a matte pale orange shade. Desire Me is a matte coral red very  pigmented. Love Me is a glossy pinky orange.  They are all pretty shades & great for Summer but they do have a tendency to melt really quickly, so be careful if it's a hot day!

I’m am impressed with this palette as the colours are more pigmented and for only £5.99 you can’t go wrong.  I love how there is a selection of different textures and finishes in the palette and I love the colour variety available from a Nudes to bright pinks to deep plums
I have had a good & a bad experience with these, but it hasn't put me off trying the other shades in this range, I love that you have a little compact with 4 different shades, perfect for travel. I also love the brand Sleek & own nearly all their Blushes as the quality is amazing.

Have you tried these palettes, which would you recommend?

Freeze 24/7 & Go Instant Smoother and Brightener

I am always on the lookout for a new primer that evens out my skin tone, reduces the size of my Pores & makes my T-Zone stay matte, this cream helps to brighten and plump the complexion as soon as it's applied, refining the look of enlarged pores and giving your face a smooth and radiant finish.

Reduce the appearance of skin imperfections with this Freeze & Go* Instant Smoother and Brightener from Freeze 24/7. I applied it under my foundation.  I have to say that it kept my skin more matte throughout the day, and made my pores look smaller.  My skin was smooth to the touch and looked great.  I’m loving wearing this as a multi-purpose primer!
Another way to use it is by tapping a small amount of it on top of your makeup throughout the day.  It will refresh the look of your makeup and helped to remove any sign of oil slicks on my t-zone area.

It has a slight Orangey fragrance that’s not too overpowering and the plastic tube has a little pump. Perfect for travel & throwing into your make up bag without worrying about it leaking.
I am happy with the results it doesn't make my fine lines disappear but it definately softens them & makes them much less noticeable, Make up application is easy it just glides over the top.

Do You use a Primer?

BIODERMA Sensibio H2O micelle solution

I have been using Bioderma for the past 12-14 months now & i think it is great, I personally use the Bioderma Sèbium H20 solution  as a cleanser in the mornings to remove any oil from my face, and  i use the original as a make-up remover in the evenings. I love how it really removes any make up I have on, whilst also leaving my skin feeling refreshed and revitalised. I've been encouraging friends and family to try out this products and would definitely recommend it to anyone who's on the hunt for a cleanser, make-up remover or just likes trying new products.

At the cutting edge of innovation, BIODERMA has pioneered micellar solutions. Specially formulated for sensitive, normal to dry skins, the Sensibio H2O micelle solution gently cleanses face and eyes. It removes water-resistant make-up.The micelles contained in its formula effectively micro-emulsify impurities while maintaining the skin’s balance (soap-free, physiological pH).
Soothing and decongesting active ingredients prevent the feelings of irritation often caused by cleansing.
Sensibo H2O guarantees excellent cutaneous and ocular tolerance (tested under ophthalmological supervision).
It removes even waterproof mascara & a heavy smokey eye no problem, i just apply it to a cotton pad, Then gently hold on my for around 10-20 seconds depending on how much eye makeup i am wearing & then i just swipe away & my Makeup has gone!
The only one thing i hate about this product is it is so pigging hard to get hold of & expensive because of this, it is a couple of euros to buy but on eBay prices start around £5? For just the 100ml (Travel size) then 500ml is around £11?

I've been trying to persuade my Husband to take me on a trip to Paris (because i want to stock up on this. But SHhh don't tell him!!) As it is a city i would love to visit.

Available from eBay or City Pharma, Saint Germain, Paris.

Have you fallen for the charms of Micellar solutions?

Topshop Neon Rose Blush

I have always had a love - hate relationship with cream blushes.

This blush costs £6 for 4g of product, so it is relatively inexpensive. It comes in a cute black box and the packaging sturdy and very cute, with a handy mirror included. On the website this blusher is labelled as being a coral colour. But i think it leans more towards the pinky side of coral.

This blusher is cream in the pan but dries as a powder on the cheeks! Which i wasn't aware of,  i was expecting it to give me a nice glow and it didn't - it finishes pretty matte! Although this is definitely more natural looking than a powder blush.

I do like it, but i'm not sure if it has changed my mind with cream blushes, i can recommend mixing a little on your lips with a lip balm for a lovely coral lip!

Available to buy for £6 from TopShop

Nars Blush/Bronzer Trio

It comes in a Stylish zippered compact nylon case with a huge mirror, which is handy for travelling – not a big fan of the design but at least the nylon will be more durable than the usual rubber case which I'm definitely not a fan of!

This trio of Iconic classics together we have NARS Laguna with NARS Orgasm (a shimmery peachy golden pink) & Albatross (a shimmery ivory with a pale gold )

This was a ltd Edition, but i have seen a few still available on Amazon & Ebay, Also keep an eye on Blogsales.

Chanel Blush horizon De Chanel

I had been looking at this for a while as it was part of the Spring 2012 Collection, but couldn't justify spending the full £46 on it. But i managed to pick this little beauty up in a Blogsale Bright Town Girl was having a few months ago for a bargain price.

It's Described as A soft glow blush of five tones inspired by the radiance of the horizon at the light of dawn and as the sun sets. As the light changes throughout the day, the shades of garnet, pink, white, dark peach and light peach entice you to adapt your makeup look to the time and your mood.

As you would expect with a Chanel product, the quality is incredible. The shades really come together to create a wonderful pop of pink with the most brilliant sheen. It applies so well and blends to create such a beautiful flush. I think it looks lovely against fair skin especially when paired it with pink lips.

I am really happy i bought it, I love Chanel, i personally think it is overpriced, but you pay for the name & the Luxury i just love the packaging & everything about the brand.

If you would like to have one of your very own, it is still for sale at Selfridges for £46.00
